This morning we received an email from a friend. I believe it was a ‘forwarded’ message, so I don’t know exactly who to give the credit to……..BUT…… I had to share because these pictures are way to magical not to share 🙂 Hope you enjoy!
“To many in Santa Fe, the name Jean-Baptiste Lamy (October 11, 1814 – February 13, 1888) means more little more than the man who built the Cathedral (now Cathedral Basilica) of Saint Francis of Assisi and Loretto Chapel. A bronze statue, dedicated in 1925, stands in his memory outside the front entrance of the Basilica and the town of Lamy, New Mexico was named after him.
However, a short time after his move from France, he brought some plant cuttings to Santa Fe to bring a bit of his nostalgic homeland to his adopted home. The plants, with their unmistakable colors and aroma, thrived and adapted well to their new surroundings.”
Have a beautiful Santa Fe Day!
